A tour designed to reveal the essence of Colombia in eight days. You start in Bogotá with La Candelaria, the Gold Museum and the ride up Monserrate; continue in Medellín, where Comuna 13 and the colourful town of Guatapé tell the story of the paisa transformation; and finish in Cartagena de Indias, with its walled city and a beach day in the Rosario Islands.

Trip itinerary

    Flight Madrid – Bogotá

    Direct flight to Bogotá, welcome at El Dorado airport and transfer to the hotel near La Candelaria. Free afternoon to acclimatise to the altitude.

    Colonial Bogotá: La Candelaria, the Gold Museum and Monserrate

    Guided walk through the historic centre, Plaza de Bolívar and the Gold Museum. In the afternoon, funicular ride up Monserrate hill.

    Flight to Medellín and city tour

    Flight to Medellín. Tour of Plaza Botero, the city centre and the Metrocable with views over the Aburrá Valley. Night in El Poblado.

    Guatapé and the El Peñol rock

    Full-day trip to the Guatapé reservoir: climb the El Peñol rock (740 steps) and stroll around the town of colourful zócalos.

    Comuna 13 and flight to Cartagena

    Graffiti tour of Comuna 13 with local guides. In the afternoon, flight to Cartagena de Indias and an evening stroll around the walled city.

    Colonial Cartagena: the walls and Getsemaní

    Guided visit of the historic centre, San Felipe castle and the Getsemaní quarter. Sunset on the walls overlooking the Caribbean.

    Rosario Islands

    Beach day in the Rosario Islands: speedboat ride, crystal-clear waters, snorkelling and a Caribbean lunch by the sea.

    Return to Madrid

    Free morning in Cartagena depending on flight times, then return to Madrid via Bogotá.
